About Chris Meyer
Dr. Christopher Meyer is a graduate (Summa Cum Laude) of the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Meyer completed his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, and moved to Central Florida in 2004, where he has been dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care in General and Vascular Surgery.
During his training in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Meyer realized that patients with venous disease were being ignored by the medical community. Although patients suffered from pain related to varicose veins and venous disease, they were told that its treatment was merely cosmetic, and not a medical issue. As a result, Dr. Meyer started Florida Vein Care Specialists in order to service the vascular health needs of patients in Florida. Dr. Meyer is dedicated to the care and cure of venous disease ranging from varicose veins, chronic swelling, venous ulcers, and spider veins.
To cure these conditions, he uses cutting edge, minimally invasive medical procedures. These include Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT), Phlebectomies (vein removal), Sclerotherapy, and the VeinGogh Ohmic Thermolysis System.
Dr. Meyer is also the founder of the Vein Academy that trains physicians from all over the world on both the EVLT and Radio Frequency procedures for varicose veins. The Vein Academy is located in Winter Park, Florida. See www.Vein-Academy.com.
About Jared Reiss
Mr. Reiss began his career as a nationally certified Physician Assistant in 1995. He graduated from Kettering College of Medical Arts, one of the original PA schools in the country. He has always been a procedural based medical provider. Initially, orthopaedics was the specialty he pursued after graduating from PA school. He was an athlete himself, so musculoskeletal medicine made perfect sense to him, and he proceeded to create a reputation of excellence in this field. His pursuits brought him to Orlando to practice with one of the most well known, highly respected orthopaedic practices in the Southeastern US. It was there that he began treating patients with severe lower extremity problems, including Diabetic ulcers, arterial disease, and venous disease. He gained broad experience dealing with multiple medical and surgical problems in patients. It was also there that he became significantly aware of the lack of knowledge about vein disease in the general community.
Jared came to Florida Vein Care Specialists which has allowed him to provide our patients even further insight into their care. He is a skilled educator of patients as well as colleagues. Jared is an expert in the diagnosis and management of venous disease. He has helped teach injection workshops around the country at the American Academy of Physician Assistant National Conferences every year for the last twelve years. Jared provides care primarily in our Fort Myers location, but will travel to all of our offices. He makes every attempt to ensure our patients receive the education and personal care they are looking for. He is a proven healthcare provider.
